The popularity of the "LOST WISTS" series is at an all time high. There are multiple books available including the newest one "The Lost Ways, Second Edition." The first book in the series was an instant success when released. And now there's a second book!
This book has been on my shelf for a while and has received excellent reviews from readers. I read a few reviews before I bought it but I found the positive reviews to be true. People love the series and want more. If you are ready to be lost in your own world for a little bit then this book is perfect for you.
The Lost Ways Book Review
The main storyline is about a man named Max who travels back in time and finds himself in a very strange situation. He has disappeared without telling anyone and since then, he's been trying to find his way back. Along the way, he runs into a number of characters including a pre-teen called Ariel, a girl who is into control her fears, and a mysterious man known as Regret. Who is really going to find the lost book?
I enjoyed the story because Max is a very likable character. Everyone likes to believe in magic and being able to change the future. In this case, Max must use his magic book to travel back in time and clear his name. There were a few parts in the book that could have been trimmed a little bit. I think the flow of the novel is solid and the story line kept me interested from start to finish.
As I mentioned earlier, I like to know that the book is going to have a happy ending. "is the lost ways book safe?" was a fun book to read but it didn't have that final happy ending that I was looking for. That's okay though, because the story is great and I got a good laugh from it. It's one of those books that you might put down and pick up again if you get bored.
Overall, this was a fun and fast read. I really liked the story and the characters. I feel that if you are into these stories then you will like this one. I don't think there is anything too mysterious and all the scenes that are presented are understandable and make sense. It is a good fantasy book, I just didn't feel that it had that much of an ending.
I do recommend this book to people who like to read fantasy novels. It's not a very deep novel and isn't too long. It's a good quick read and I liked it. It will make you think, although I didn't. I'm just not sure how far it will go into explaining why Jesus rose from the dead.
I will say that in reading this book I felt a little bit underwhelmed but then again, I read a lot of fantasy novels and this one didn't take me that long to get caught in. I did think about what might have happened if Henry Thoreau ever discovered the lost album. Would things be different then? Would we know more about his life and the people he met?
I do hope that someone reads The Lost Ways and gets the same experience that I did. If you are like me and are a fan of Christian based fantasy then this is one of your favorites. I will finish this series and I plan on starting another. It is just too amazing to read one book and think "that was the end."
